The portion of the old river channel running alongside Turtle Creek Boulevard is under one of the largest migratory bird paths in the United States. The Trinity Strand Trail Turtle Creek Plaza is conveniently located under this bird path and serves as a destination spot for not only bird watchers but also residents who want to learn more about the natural wildlife that exists in our city. In April 2005, our group identified 20 bird species along the old meanders, including the white Ibis flock, snowy egret and mallards. We are always on the lookout for more sightings, so if you see additional species in this area, please let us know!
