Current Project Status

• Phase 1 Trail Enhancements - Texas Parks & Wildlife Reimbursement Grant

• We have been awarded a reimbursement grant from Texas Parks & Wildlife to allow for us to make enhancements on the current Trinity Strand Trail. This project is set to be completed by June 2021 with signage, trash cans, water fountains, benches and lighting being some of the planned enhancements.

• Phase 2 - Medical District

• We were allocated over $3.3M in the 2012 bond program to design and build the Medical District portion of our trail. This portion of the trail travels through the Medical District, past the Market Center and Parkland DART stations, terminating at the Inwood DART station.

• Hi-Line Bridge Construction

• In early 2020, we were awarded funds by the Design District TIF in order to build a bridge at the Hi-Line Trailhead where the new Virgin Hotel has opened. This bridge will connect the Hi-Line Trailhead across the river to a parallel trail in front of Ferris Wheelers and Rodeo Goat. The design has been completed and construction should start soon.
